Get the skills you need for your future
Improvements to vocational education and Training in Tasmania will take place in 2013.
From 1 July this year, a new organisation will be established to deliver VET courses to Tasmanians. This organisation will be created by bringing together the Polytechnic and the Tasmanian Skills Institute (TSI), and will be called TasTAFE.
TasTAFE is building on past successes to bring together a more streamlined 'one stop shop' for public VET in Tasmania that caters for both students and businesses alike.
If you are studying next year at either the Polytechnic or TSI it will be business as usual in 2013. Your course will be the same, the expectations will be the same, and you will continue to be assessed against industry standards. The only thing that will change is the name of the organisation you are enrolled in.

"I
decided to study Community Services because I owe my
life to all the people who helped me in many ways, but
especially the ones who helped me to survive the Rwandan
Tutsis genocide. The teachers at the Polytechnic helped
me achieve my goals - and to understand Australian
culture."
